For every order we receive, no matter how small, we pledge to plant 3 Trees through our Partners, Trees for the Future. Planting trees provides families with more than just food. It provides income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education and even saves lives.
Every year, over 30 million trees are felled intentionally and by natural causes. Trees clean our soil and our air, provide income and nutrition and protect us from the elements. Trees For The Future is a non-profit organisation that has planted 200 million trees. At Wraptious, we have so far planted over 70,000 trees, and aim to plant 100,000 trees by the end of 2021.
All Wraptious paper and timber products are made from FSC-certified or recycled materials. This includes our greeting cards and envelopes, coasters, wooden canvases and clocks, and even our bubble wrap, boxes and envelopes used for packaging.
What is FSC? FSC stands for the Forest Stewardship Council. Any resource certified by the FSC is your assurance that it is responsibly sourced from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources - so you can buy with confidence that you are helping to ensure our forests are thriving for generations to come.
Sustainable Packaging
Where possible we re-use all boxes and packaging from our suppliers to package your orders. This includes plastics as we believe it is better to re-use as filler and protection, than to send directly to landfill. Don't worry, your order is well protected while making as little impact on the environment as possible.
Not to rest on our laurels, we continually work to make our packaging more environmentally friendly. We no longer use plastic bubble wrap, our retail cushions are packed in bags made from sugarcane, and we continue to bring in new box sizes, to best-fit your products and save on filler and fuel efficiency. We also challenge and work with all our suppliers to be mindful of their packaging too!
Modern slavery is an abhorrent and often hidden crime that takes various forms in the UK and abroad, and is a violation of fundamental Human Rights. As a member of the Slave Free Alliance, we are proactive in fighting this scourge by rallying with the Anti-Slavery Charity, Hope for Justice.
Wraptious has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and act with integrity in all areas of our business and our relationships. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. As an equal-opportunity employer, we uphold our responsibility to maintain dignity and respect to all.
Plastics and micro-plastics are a threat to the environment, harming wildlife and polluting the food chain. Wraptious is committed to reducing single use plastics across our business.
From 2020, we no longer use plastic cellophane to pack our greeting cards - all retail cards are posted naked, while our trade and bespoke customers are given a choice between naked cards or our new biodegradable and compostable cellos. We no longer use plastic bubble wrap for our packaging, having moved to a recycled paper alternative, while our bags at all our market stalls are biodegradable. Our retail cushions too, are now shipped in a fully recyclable, carbon-neutral material made from sugarcane.
These measures, we estimate, save Wraptious from using half a tonne of plastic per year.
